New Zealand Securities Litigation & Enforcement Update April 2025

The past year has been another notable year for securities enforcement and litigation in New Zealand, with high profile proceedings commenced in relation to Du Val and Booster and a merits judgment in the long-running CBL continuous disclosure proceedings which followed the 2018 collapse of listed reinsurer CBL Corporation. Meanwhile regulators have continued to proceed with enforcement action for lower-level breaches of the FMCA and this week the FMA announced its revised outcomes focused approach to regulating.
