EX PARTE INTERIM RELIEF UNDER THE NEW SIAC RULES

The 7th edition of the SIAC Arbitration Rules, which came into force on 1 January 2025, incorporates a new procedure for obtaining interim relief on an ex parte basis (ie without informing the party against whom the relief is sought). We explain briefly below how a party can obtain such relief, the guardrails that have been put in place to prevent its abuse, the costs involved, and how it can be enforced.
